Poetry

Perhaps the most personally significant form of writing in my life is poetry. I began writing for my own personal growth at around 8 years old. Needless to say, the poems back then were full of simple words and silly emotions. Even still, I think that holds true. I love poetry that is complicated and hard to understand on the surface. I'm not sure mine is that way, but it fits me. It reflects exactly what I feel or think about a certain situation, without having to expose the details. This is a vital part of writing poetry, in my mind. I do it so that I can release things that are built up, but I don't necessarily want my words to reveal why I think or feel this way.

The next few posts I make will be some poems that I have written over the years (sorry, no 8 year old Tara work here). Other posts may include essays, articles, thoughts, ramblings (like this sentence), etc. I am also very interested to hear other's thoughts, so feel free, at any time, to tell me what you are thinking as well.
